DIBELS

Reading testing tomorrow.  Make sure you get a good nights sleep tonight, and eat a good breakfast in the morning.  Get those brains ready to read.

Resechedule

Due to school wide DIBELS testing we have rescheduled our library class for Tuesday, January 11 instead of Wednesday the 12th.

BINGO For Books

Once a month our principal celebrates reading with the first grade students.  The play BINGO for books.

STAR Reading

In the past I have sent home special sheets to keep track of the student’s nightly reading.  To cut back on paperwork I have decided to track their reading goals with the homework folders.  If their homework is signed and turned in, I can tell if students have met the class STAR Reading goal. 

Sharing

We will start sharing the second week of January.  I will send home a sharing schedule after the break. I have broken the class up, so we will have no more than 5 sharers per day. **Their homework must be signed in order for them to share on their assigned day. Limit one sharing item per student.

Thanksgiving Feast

Our Thanksgiving Feast was rescheduled due to snow.  We celebrated with all of the first graders and a few of the second graders.  We had a breakfast of french toast, applesauce, and pumpkin spice muffins.  The food was good, and it was fun eating with our friends.
